Following its review of sales results of “Not Far From The Tree” through July 31st, ESE, Inc. acknowledged today, the book is having a “Banner Year.” Of the 211 days in the period, CEO Eric Simmons’ Memoir ranked, in retail sales, in Amazon.com’s “Top 10%” in sales, out of over 8,000,000 books sold worldwide, 95% of the time (i.e., 201 days). The book also attained Amazon “Best Seller” status in January and March as it ranked number 79 and number 52 respectively in sales in the Single Parent category.
In Library sales, the world-renowned Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture completed its rebinding of the book from paperback to hardcover and placed it on its shelves in March. Also, two award-winning Libraries acquired multiple copies of the manuscript during the period. Howard County Library System (HCLS), Library Journal’s 2013 Library of The Year, ordered three (3) copies of the Memoir and Stark County District Library, a Journal 2018 "Star Library," ordered two copies of the book. Year over year, the Memoir’s Library sales were up 64%!
